Hosea

I.God will fully restore Israel

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness And speak kindly to her. (Hosea 2:14)

“Then I will give her her vineyards from there, And the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. (Hosea 2:15)

“It will come about in that day,” declares the LORD, “That you will call Me Ishi And will no longer call Me Baali. (Hosea 2:16)

“For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, So that they will be mentioned by their names no more. (Hosea 2:17)

“In that day I will also make a covenant for them With the beasts of the field, The birds of the sky And the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword and war from the land, And will make them lie down in safety. (Hosea 2:18)

“I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion, (Hosea 2:19)

And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD. (Hosea 2:20)

“It will come about in that day that I will respond,” declares the LORD. “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth, (Hosea 2:21)

And the earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine and to the oil, And they will respond to Jezreel. (Hosea 2:22)

“I will sow her for Myself in the land. I will also have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion, And I will say to those who were not My people, `You are My people!’ And they will say, `You are my God!’ ” (Hosea 2:23)

Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days. (Hosea 3:5)

II.  God will release His full grace to Israel

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. (Hosea 5:15)

“Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. (Hosea 6:1)

“He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him. (Hosea 6:2)

“So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.” (Hosea 6:3)

Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, When I restore the fortunes of My people. (Hosea 6:11)

III. God will freely heal and restore Israel

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity. (Hosea 14:1)

Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity And receive us graciously, That we may present the fruit of our lips. (Hosea 14:2)

“Assyria will not save us, We will not ride on horses; Nor will we say again, `Our god,’ To the work of our hands; For in You the orphan finds mercy.” (Hosea 14:3)

I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from them. (Hosea 14:4)

I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. (Hosea 14:5)

His shoots will sprout, And his beauty will be like the olive tree And his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon. (Hosea 14:6)

Those who live in his shadow Will again raise grain, And they will blossom like the vine. His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon. (Hosea 14:7)

O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like a luxuriant cypress; From Me comes your fruit. (Hosea 14:8)

JOEL

I. God will pour out His Spirit

“It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. (Joel 2:28)

“Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. (Joel 2:29)

“And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem There will be those who escape, As the LORD has said, Even among the survivors whom the LORD calls.
(Joel 2:32))

II. Israel will be holy and established by God

Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, Dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. So Jerusalem will be holy, And strangers will pass through it no more. (Joel 3:17)

And in that day The mountains will drip with sweet wine, And the hills will flow with milk, And all the brooks of Judah will flow with water; And a spring will go out from the house of the LORD To water the valley of Shittim. (Joel 3:18)

Egypt will become a waste, And Edom will become a desolate wilderness, Because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, In whose land they have shed innocent blood. (Joel 3:19)

But Judah will be inhabited forever And Jerusalem for all generations. (Joel 3:20)

ZECHARIAH

I. God will be zealous to restore Israel

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, `I am exceedingly jealous for Zion, yes, with great wrath I am jealous for her.’ (Zechariah 8:2)

“Thus says the LORD, `I will return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.’ (Zechariah 8:3)

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, `Old men and old women will again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each man with his staff in his hand because of age. (Zechariah 8:4)

`And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.’ (Zechariah 8:5)

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, `If it is too difficult in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, will it also be too difficult in My sight?’ declares the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 8:6)

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, `Behold, I am going to save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west; (Zechariah 8:7)

and I will bring them back and they will live in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God in truth and righteousness.’ (Zechariah 8:8)

II.God will save and cleanse Israel

“I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

“In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo. (Zechariah 12:11)

“The land will mourn, every family by itself; the family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself and their wives by themselves; (Zechariah 12:12)

the family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the Shimeites by itself and their wives by themselves; (Zechariah 12:13)

all the families that remain, every family by itself and their wives by themselves. (Zechariah 12:14)

“In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity. (Zechariah 13:1)

“It will come about in that day,” declares the LORD of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land. (Zechariah 13:2)

“And if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, `You shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of the LORD’; and his father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies. (Zechariah 13:3)

“Also it will come about in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a hairy robe in order to deceive; (Zechariah 13:4)

but he will say, `I am not a prophet; I am a tiller of the ground, for a man sold me as a slave in my youth.’ (Zechariah 13:5)

“And one will say to him, `What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will say, `Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’ (Zechariah 13:6)

HAGGAI

I. God will make Israel glorious when He shakes the nations

“For thus says the LORD of hosts, `Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. (Haggai 2:6)

`I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. (Haggai 2:7)

`The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the LORD of hosts. (Haggai 2:8)

DEUTERONOMY

I. Israel’s End-Time Salvation

“The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the LORD drives you. (Deuteronomy 4:27)

“There you will serve gods, the work of man’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell. (Deuteronomy 4:28)

“But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)

“When you are in distress and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days you will return to the LORD your God and listen to His voice. (Deuteronomy 4:30)

“For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:31)

“So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your God has banished you, (Deuteronomy 30:1)

“For I know that after my death you will act corruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days, for you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.” (Deuteronomy 31:29)

Israel’s Salvation

Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, “Assemble yourselves that I may tell you what will befall you in the days to come. (Genesis 49:1)

“And now, behold, I am going to my people; come, and I will advise you what this people will do to your people in the days to come.” (Numbers 24:14)

II.  Israel will return from captivity and experience salvation

So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your God has banished you, (Deuteronomy 30:1)

and you return to the LORD your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, (Deuteronomy 30:2)

then the LORD your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you. (Deuteronomy 30:3)

“If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. (Deuteronomy 30:4)

“The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. (Deuteronomy 30:5)

“Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. (Deuteronomy 30:6)

“The LORD your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. (Deuteronomy 30:7)

“And you shall again obey the LORD, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. (Deuteronomy 30:8)

“Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; (Deuteronomy 30:9)

if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. (Deuteronomy 30:10)

III. Israel will be delivered and saved by the Lord

“There is none like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And through the skies in His majesty. (Deuteronomy 33:26)

“The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, `Destroy!’ (Deuteronomy 33:27)

“So Israel dwells in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drop down dew. (Deuteronomy 33:28)

“Blessed are you, O Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, Who is the shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will tread upon their high places.” (Deuteronomy 33:29)
