The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, (Ezekiel 37:1)
And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. (Ezekiel 37:2)
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. (Ezekiel 37:3)
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. (Ezekiel 37:4)
Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: (Ezekiel 37:5)
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (Ezekiel 37:6)
So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. (Ezekiel 37:7)
And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. (Ezekiel 37:8)
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. (Ezekiel 37:9)
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. (Ezekiel 37:10)
Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. (Ezekiel 37:11)
The Father wanted to strengthen Israel. Anytime we are cut off from the source of life we are without hope. Israel had made choices that separated her from the hope and power of God to deliver her from destruction. The tender loving Father yearned for her protection and provision so He touches His prophet and commands him to speak over her this powerful prophecy to not only describe His heart for her but to change the future. This is a prophetic picture of what happens when as intercessors we partner with the Father to pray and prophesy what He says of His Beloved Israel.
Prophesy helps us see what God sees, to have His perspective. Israel had been away from the Promised Land for a long time, their hope had deteriorated to the point of disbelief.
God was very specific to Israel that the covenant was to be brought forth in a particular land, a Promised Land. The covenant included a land and where they were; both spiritually and physically, separated them from the Blessing God had for them.
They choose to sin and reject the command of God and it lead them into captivity but the Love of the Father was wooing Israel back into fellowship, back into communion.
When we study the Love of the Father for His people we are strengthened to know He loves us that way. He will never leave us where we are if we will yield to His Spirit and obey His leadership. God will never leave us guessing what is in store for us. He is faithful to provide direction, understanding and opportunity to receive all that is in His heart.
The Love of God is not an emotion, it’s not a romantic concept born out of some Hollywood film. The Love of God is real, it is life-giving, life sustaining, and never ending, eternal. There is nothing absolutely nothing in this world that can be compared to the Love of God.
A nation who repeatedly angers God with their insolence, arrogance and disobedience He never gives up on or quits loving, He reaches for Israel time and again revealing what she can have and be it’s only an act of obedience away with full surrender to a life of continual communion.
It is humbling to think as Americans we forget who we are, grafted in to this covenant. It didn’t come to us directly, it came by way of Israel and for us to disregard that is no different than a child who disregards his parents authority. The child didn’t choose his parents but that is the family he was born into and it is a given, he must obey his parents authority.
We didn’t choose to be born a gentile but we are and therefore we must accept and recognize that Israel is the chosen people, they are first and we are not. We must honor the nation regardless of their position and we must live our lives to support and undergird their leadership under God’s ruler-ship.
Israel has an authority that is greater than ours, they will rule the nations and we must partner with that leadership. God has an inheritance for them and one for us, we choose to receive all that He has and not settle until Israel has received theirs.
Lord, we agree with Your heart for Israel. We prophecy over her HOPE and STRENGTH. We declare the winds, the breathe of God, the Holy Spirit blow upon her, stir her faith, send a fresh in filling, raise her up to stand to be strengthened with resolve to not back down, to not give up but to fight for all of Your promises in Your covenant. We refuse to agree with the enemy, we refuse to give place to fear and we choose to love You Lord with all our heart and believe and trust in your plans of deliverance, peace and prosperity for Israel. Amen.
